The disused toilets in Tower Bridge Road and a derelict plumbers' merchant in New Kent Road are two of the images of 'credit crunch Britain' featured on a new calendar.

The Credit Crunch Calendar 2010 has been produced by the makers of the popular Roundabouts of Britain series of products.

The calendar features boarded-up shops and broken windows from around the country, but the October and November images are from right here in SE1.

October's picture shows the former TA Harris plumbers' merchant building in New Kent Road which was the scene of a huge fire in March this year.

November's image is the vandalised "to(i)let" sign on the former public conveniences at the junction of Tower Bridge Road and Grange Road.

Southwark Council, which is currently marketing the premises to let, says that the toilets represent an "exciting opportunity" for a new cafe or restaurant.
