A new ground floor cafe and public amenity space are proposed by the developers

Plans for the Quill – designed by SPPARC architects – were first revealed at a public exhibition last summer.

Now the scheme – with some changes and refinements – has been submitted to Southwark Council as a planning application.

King's College London and Investream are proposing to demolish the existing Capital House building and replace it with a 31-storey tower containing 525 student bedrooms and a bar, gym and library at the top of the building.

The site is part of King's College London's Guy's Campus and is close to the Shard of Glass which is now under construction at London Bridge, as well as the proposed 'Three Houses' development further east along St Thomas' Street.
