Architect sought for £90 million cancer treatment centre at Guy’s Hospital

Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust plans to build a new cancer treatment centre (CTC) at Guy's Hospital.

The CTC will be the first building in a phased development that will ultimately deliver an integrated cancer centre, combining clinical care with research.

The trust has previously identified the site currently occupied by the Greenwood Theatre and Wolfson House on Weston Street as the proposed location for the new integrated cancer centre.

The jury for the architectural competition, run by RIBA, will include architects Simon Allford and Spencer de Grey.

"Much recent research suggests that a building that lifts the spirits for those who use it will improve the rates of staff and patient attendance," says Simon Allford.

"The client's aim is that this project will prove this point."

The initiative is a collaboration betwee by Guy's and St Thomas', King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and King's College London.
