Southwark Circle launches discount dining club for over-50s

On Wednesday 20 July participating restaurants across the borough are offering all diners booking through Southwark Circle a discount of up to 25 per cent.

Meals will be taking place all over the borough and happening throughout the day, with the chance to have breakfast, lunch, dinner and treats in between.

“It’s a chance to do all the things that I joined Southwark Circle to do: get value for money, meet people who live nearby and enjoy the best of where I live," says Bermondsey resident Pauline Brady.

20 Southwark restaurants are participating in Wednesday's Big Dine Out, including these in SE1:

• 10am El Vergel – 10 per cent discount
• 1pm The Three Stags – 10 per cent discount
• 1pm Woolfson & Tay – 10 per cent discount
• 7pm Ivory Arch – 25 per cent discount
• 7pm Pizzeria La Lanterna – 25 per cent discount
• 7pm My Big Fat Greek – 25 per cent discount
• 7pm Tower Tandoori – 25 per cent discount

Wednesday's event marks the launch of Southwark Circle's Dine Out club which will allow cardholders to claim annual discounts of up to 25 per cent at local, independent restaurants for themselves and up to six guests. They will also receive special offers and opportunities for weekly meals out together with other Dine Out members.

Southwark Circle is a social enterprise set up by the Tanner Street-based Participle organisation as a hybrid social network and concierge service for older people. It is receiving £1 million from Southwark Council over three years and now claims more than 1,000 members.
