10-year-old Lilu went missing four days ago from a house in Bermondsey near the SE1/SE16 border.

Neighbours were looking after the siamese cat whilst Ms Porter and Mr O'Dowd are on honeymoon in the United States.

After several days of social media appeals to help find Lilu, the celebrity couple has hired Animal Search UK whose team of five pet detectives are now in the area with two marked vehicles.

Hundreds of posters and leaflets with Lilu's details are being distributed and numerous sheds and garages searched.

"We'll make sure that we have as much background as possible before we commence our search," said Tom Watkins, a former police officer who leads the Animal Search UK team.

"We'll check details about Lilu's normal routine, and her usual patterns of movement in the area."

"Armed with this background information, we'll be ready for the search to commence in earnest. Our service combines systematic local enquiries (including door to door), with a thorough publicity campaign.

"Everybody we speak to will be informed of the relevant details, and left with information about Lilu. Our team are fully insured to check sheds, outbuildings and garages etc (with the permission of the owner), and we will always make a request to do so, enabling us to be as thorough as possible in our investigation."

Anyone with news, information or who has a sighting of Lilu should ring Animal Search UK on 0800 4 320 340 and quote case ref: 137955 or search on the website www.animalsearchuk.co.uk for pet ref: ALP137955.
