The pupils spent last half term working with Rosie Chesson from Step Into Dance to create a street dance piece.

The piece, entitled 'House Party', was performed at Evelyn Grace Academy along with work devised by pupils at 11 other local schools.

'House party' was a combination of short dances which showcase different styles of street dance from locking and popping to waacking.

Now the Notre Dame girls have been selected to perform at a London-wide youth dance event called Step LIVE! at Sadler's Wells Theatre.

"The last few months have been intense and we have seen so many talented dancers performing," said Sue Goodman, Step into Dance artistic and programme director.

"We have watched over 85 of our schools compete for a place in Step LIVE! 2013, each keen to be part of the celebratory event.

"The dance groups that have shown real dedication and commitment will have the opportunity to strut their stuff and represent their borough at Sadler's Wells on 14 July."
