Archbishop’s Park gardening club seeks new members

In 2012 the Friends of Archbishop's Park were awarded a three year grant by South London and Maudsley NHS Trust to continue their gardening club which supports adults recovering from mental health issues.

Gardening is well known for its therapeutic benefits as it gets you out in the fresh air doing something physical in a natural setting.

You leave you troubles at the door and then allow yourself to create something colourful and inspiring.

The club, which has already won a Royal Horticultural Society award, is now growing a variety of fruit and vegetables as well as maintaining an orchard and apiary.

The club welcomes all volunteers and provides tools and gloves. There are also trips out to other gardens during the year.

Want to join? The group meets every Friday at 2pm in the middle green door by the playground in Archbishop's Park. For more information see www.archbishopspark.org or contact Helen at [email protected]
