As temperatures in London soar, there's a new cool oasis at Waterloo Millennium Green where the water feature has at last been restored.

The waterfall and pond has been out of action for at least three summers but has now been cleaned and repaired with section 106 funding from the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge development.

Lambeth Council has also granted a 999-year lease on Waterloo Millennium Green to Bankside Open Spaces Trust.

Newly elected Bishop's ward councillors Kevin Craig and Ben Kind visited the green to see the restored water feature and meet BOST staff and trustees.

The water feature is back in action just in time for two major events on the green: the Waterloo Carnival on Friday and the Waterloo Jamboree on Saturday.
