The proposed routes for the Bakerloo line extension published last year did not include the borough of Croydon

Last year TfL held a public consultation on plans to extend the Bakerloo line south from Elephant & Castle to the borough of Bromley via Old Kent Road or Camberwell and Peckham.

This week Boris Johnson finally published a long-overdue response to an official question tabled by Val Shawcross AM, London Assembly member for Lambeth and Southwark, asking what discussions had been held with Croydon Council about the Bakerloo line extension.

"Croydon Council responded to the consultation asking for consideration to be given to extending the line to Croydon," said the Mayor.

"I met with the leader of Croydon on 24 September.

"TfL is assessing this option along with many others that were suggested during the 2014 consultation and will be consulting on the route later this year."
