The Brexit boats were met by vessels flying flags in support of the 'in' side.

UKIP leader Nigel Farage MEP was on board one of the fishing boats, whilst Sir Bob Geldof was part of the 'remain' contigent.

Some of the smaller vessels made their way to Westminster.

Pro-Brexit Vauxhall MP Kate Hoey tweeted her support of the 'Fishing for Leave' campaign, claiming that the "EU has destroyed an industry and communities".

A similar flotilla of fishing vessels came to London in 1971 in a protest over Common Market fisheries policy.
