Train services to and from Waterloo were suspended for a time on Sunday afternoon while firefighters dealt with a blaze just outside the station.

The London Fire Brigade sent six fire engines, a turntable ladder and two command units to the scene.

Crews and vehicles from Dockhead, Lambeth, Soho, Brixton, Dowgate, Fulham and Richmond were among those dealing with the fire.

Carlisle Lane was closed between Westminster Bridge Road and Royal Street.

South West Trains services were halted between 4.30pm and 5.15pm – but delays are expected to continue till 9pm.
