Bermondsey Street: A London Story by Adam Bates and Julie Calvert received its premiere at the Shortwave Cinema in Bermondsey Square in May this year, raising money for the Manna Centre for homeless people.

The film is being screened again twice at Shortwave on Saturday as part of the Bermondsey Street Festival and DVDs will also be on sale at the festival.

The film features a range of people who know and love Bermondsey Street, from George the barber to Dame Zandra Rhodes and Norman Ackroyd to Jose Pizarro.

We caught up with Julie Calvert who told us more about the film: listen to the full interview below.

• Check the Shutterspeed Pictures website or follow Julie and Adam on Twitter @JulieAdamFilms for the latest on where to buy the DVD.

• At the time of writing, tickets were still available for the 1pm and 3pm screenings of the film at Shortwave on Saturday 17 September.
