In 1824, Charles Dickens' father was imprisoned for debt in the Marshalsea Prison. This walk explores Dickens' childhood encounter with the Victorian underworld, visiting the places which cast a shadow over his entire life and inspired scenes in novels from Little Dorrit to Oliver Twist.

Led by John Constable, author of The Southwark Mysteries and Secret Bankside.

No advance booking. Please arrive early to be sure of a place.
