Join arts and mental health charity, CoolTan Arts on a guided walk from the Maudsley Hospital to Dickens Square SE1 - and learn something about Britain's most celebrated novelist in his bicentenary year.

Along the 3-mile route friendly guides lead you on a journey exploring the local history and landmarks of Southwark and their connection to Dickens' life and novels.

Learn more about Dickens early years in Lant Street, his father's imprisonment in the local Marshalsea Prison, Little Dorrit, Dickens' female characters and mental health in the 19th century.

Dickens himself had experience of mental distress and insomnia and was famous for taking long walks around London, especially at night.

CoolTan Arts Largactyl Shuffle is a guided, stigma-busting cultural walk, designed to encourage mental and physical wellbeing, through art, exercise, humour and history.
