Southwark libraries poetry festival

Celebrate Valentine's Day with a poem chosen from the library's Eros catalogue. Staff will print your poem on parchment paper and tie it with a red ribbon to make a romantic gift.

Have you ever felt the urge to tell the whole world your favourite poem?

Have you written your own poetry that you'd like to share with others?

Come along to the Poetry Platform between 10am and 5pm - hosted by acclaimed poet and storyteller Sandra Agard - and take the plunge. You'll be joined by library staff and visitors of all ages sharing their favourite poems.

Spread the Word works with London writers at all stages of their careers, encouraging new and original voices in poetry, fiction, scriptwriting and other genres.

Whatever level your current writing, whether published or unpublished, why not come along for a free drop in session (11am-4pm) to discuss your work.

There will also be a writing table where you can write some of your own material on the day.
