NT Future Platform

NT Future is a £70 million redevelopment programme which will transform the facilities the National offers audiences and artists, enhance its relationship with the environment around it and place education firmly at the heart of its mission.

This Platform is a chance to learn about the redevelopment plans first-hand from the project's leaders: Nick Starr (NT executive director), Lisa Burger (NT chief operating officer) and Paddy Dillon (associate director, Haworth Tompkins).

The NT will remain open throughout the redevelopment. In 2014, the Cottesloe Theatre will re-open as the new Dorfman Theatre, seating more people in greater comfort.

A new café and entrance pavilion will welcome people approaching from the river walk. A production centre and a high-level walkway overlooking the NT's workshops will give people the chance to see for themselves how theatre is made.

Audiences of all ages will have the chance to explore and discover in the new learning centre, and enhanced digital facilities will help the National bring more of its work to people across the world.

The Platform is chaired by Paul Gambaccini and is free but booking is advised.
