The Life and Legend of Marchesa Casati

This event is in the past. This is an archive page for reference.

Imagine being beautiful, rich, a Muse and having style too. All that and a lifelong involvement with the occult arts. The Marchesa Luisa Casati was just such a person and her life was full of adventure, extravagance and magic. Often copied - even today - but never equalled, La Casati inspired European and British artists and yet all she created was one memorable sentence. Come along and find out what it was.

Geraldine Beskin co-owns the Atlantis Bookshop, which, at 91 years old, is London's oldest independent occult bookshop. Geraldine is an amateur historian who enjoys researching her largely biographical talks, finding out about London past and resenting what they have replaced it with.
