Bermondsey Walk with Old Maps

This event is in the past. This is an archive page for reference.

Join Ken Titmuss for a with old maps exploring the neighbourhood that grew around Bermondsey Abbey, that became London's main leather-making district.

You will see what became of a Victorian smithy and the old Watch House.

There are rare 17th century houses where you least expect to see them.

You will find a fragment of the abbey wall in a most unlikely place and celebrate the work of the Beautification Committee of Bermondsey Borough Council in the 1920s.
