The first in a new series of late openings at the Design Museum, there will be an exciting range of activities on offer, including the popular Script Debate, gallery talks, musical entertainment, and a licensed bar.

As part of Switched on London, the Pool of London's lighting festival, the Design Museum exterior will be illuminated on the night by architectural lighting designers Zumtobel Lighting and Bega Lighting.

Script Debate

This established forum for design debate at the Design Museum continues in its new Friday night slot. On arrival visitors will be able to reserve debate tickets at the admissions desk. Early arrival is advised to avoid disappointment. The debate will begin at 7.15 and will last for 45 minutes.

Make a book and take it away

Graphic designer Alex Bettler will lead on a series of interactive gallery based workshops. As visitors walk through the Alan Fletcher and Robert Brownjohn exhibitions, they will be invited to respond to the work of these two influential designers. At a series of work stations they will be offered a hands-on opportunity to make their own designs which will be bound into a book at the end of the evening.

Gallery Talk

Furniture designer Martino Gamper will be conducting an informal gallery talk providing an insight into the motivation behind his exhibition Confronting the Chair. Visitors will be able to reserve a timed ticket for this event on arrival. Also on show will be a short film documenting Gamper creating one of his chairs for his project 100 Chairs in 100 Days.
