Better Bankside Ecology Toolkit Launch

As part of National Volunteers Week, Better Bankside and sustainability consultancy Eight Associates are launching the Better Bankside Ecology Toolkit, a practical mini-guide with tips on guerrilla gardening, creating mini-meadows and rain gardens, and building bat and bird boxes.

The toolkit highlights the many ways anyone can get involved to 'green' their urban environment, and there is a lunchtime session on Wednesday to help people get started.

It is well recognised that a little more greenery in urban settings makes for happier, healthier people. The toolkit was created by the Ecologists at Eight Associates after being inspired by the work of Better Bankside's monthly urban gardening group and their Bankside Urban Forest initiative.

To celebrate the launch of the Better Bankside Ecology Toolkit, join Better Bankside and Eight Associates outside Union Viet, at the junction of Ewer Street and Union Street on Wednesday 8 June from 12.30pm to 2pm for a lunchtime of activities aimed at improving urban wildlife and pick up a free pack of native wildflower seeds.
