Festive Lights Switch-On

As part of Southbank Centre's Christmas celebrations, The Hayward has commissioned Anya Gallaccio to create artist-designed festive lights, which she has entitled 'Starboard'. Gallaccio is famed for creating site-specific installations, often using organic materials as her medium.

The lights will be switched on by model and author Sophie Dahl, accompanied by Southbank Centre's Voicelab Swell Choir followed by a festive procession of music and song.

Sophie Dahl will then be signing new copies of her book, Playing with Grown-Ups in Festival Riverside Foyer, besides Foyles, from 7pm.The event coincides with a night of festive Christmas shopping across the site.
