Brain Injury charity Rehab UK and Bermondsey-based theatre group the Vayu Naidu Company are offering a rare chance for the public to experience the work they do with brain injury clients at a free open rehearsal event.

Rehab UK and the Vayu Naidu Company have been working together to offer Rehab UK's clients who have an acquired brain injury a unique new element in their rehabilitation in the form of drama workshops.

A pilot series of the workshops were held last October at Rehab UK's centre on St Thomas' Street and were deemed a great success. Throughout the summer a further group of 12 clients have enjoyed a 10-week series of workshops at Bermondsey Village Hall in Leathermarket Gardens.

"The Open Rehearsal will offer a rare opportunity for a general audience to see a drama workshop with a group of Rehab UK's current clients in action," says says Chris Banfield, artistic director, Vayu Naidu Company.

"While not a performance as such, the open rehearsal aims to use theatre games and exercises to develop participants' creativity, communication and interpersonal skills."
