'Andrzejki' with Andrzej Krauze at St George the Martyr

Nowy Czas/Arteria present an exhibition of drawings and talk with Andrzej Krauze.

A rare exhibition of work by Polish artist Andrzej Krauze (cartoonist for The Guardian and New York Times amongst others), and a celebration of Andrzejki (St. Andrew's Day); a traditional night of festivity in Polish culture, featuring wine tasting, fortune reading and music from blues singer Leszek Alexander and jazz standards by Dominika Zachman.

Andrzej Krauze studied at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Art, and in 1971, while still a student, he began contributing cartoons to the satirical magazine Szpilki. After leaving the Academy he continued contributing to Szpilki and began work as political cartoonist on the weekly magazine Kultura. In 1982 he settled in London. He contributes regulary to The Guardian, Rzeczpospolita, Wprost, New York Times, International Herald Tribune, Sunday Telegraph, Bookseller, New Scientist, Modern Painters and others (among them Nowy Czas). His drawings, watercolours and theatre posters are represented in many private and public collections. In 1985 he was appointed Visiting Lecturer at the Royal College of Art.
