TangoWalk Southwark

As part of Big Dance 2010, Nordic Nomad Productions and TangoNautics are producing a new route for the TangoWalk series.

A TangoWalk is an innovative participatory event that combines social dance, local history and a guided audio walk. Couples will share an MP3 player via two headsets and an adaptor, and will dance and walk - apparently in silence. On the MP3 player will be a pre-loaded track with original tango music and spoken word tracks.

This format mimics the Milonga format, where Tandas (dancing) are interspersed with Cortinas (literally, 'curtains', breaks in dancing).

Participants will have the opportunity to take part in a pre-walk Argentine Tango workshop, run by Tango South London. This ensures that even people who have never danced the tango before are able to take part.

No reservations – turn up at the hall by the adventure playground 10 minutes before the start. Please pre-load the audio track from the website before arrival if possible.
