Southwark Democracy Commission Conference

This event is in the past. This is an archive page for reference.

Southwark Council has set up a cross-party Democracy Commission to examine how Council Assembly could be improved.

Council Assembly is held 7 times a year and is the only time that Southwark's 63 councillors meet together.

Meetings are held in the chamber at the Town Hall in Peckham Road, Camberwell.

This conference will bring together Southwark residents, councillors and community leaders.

The council wants residents to tell them how they would like to get involved in the debates and decisions on issues such as housing, transport and schools.

NB the time of the conference has been changed so that it no longer clashes with the funeral of past Southwark Mayor Hilary Wines which will be held in the Cathedral at 10.30am.
