About this role

Duties and Responsibilities

• Be responsible for the provision of cleaning, washing, sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing and vacuum cleaning of designated areas to a high standard.
• Working in accordance with the venues Risk Assessments and Method statements and within C.O.S.H. regulations.
• Emptying litter/refuse bins, etc, and removing waste to designated areas in accordance with recycling policy.
• Cleaning of toilets and washrooms to a high standard to fill out and display cleaning logs on completion of toilet/washroom cleaning.
• Replenishing toilet rolls and hand towels throughout the site
• Using powered equipment where necessary (vacuum cleaners).
• Cleaning of working surfaces and other furniture as required.
• Emergency cleaning- clearing up after flooding and/or any other emergencies as they occur.
• Cleaning of the auditoriums seating areas.
• Cleaning of windows in the bar.
• Undertake any other duties which may reasonably be regarded as within the nature of the duties and responsibilities of the post as defined.

Working Hours:

Usual working hours are Monday to Saturday, between 8am -11am, 5-6 days per week. Although we are unable to guarantee a minimum number of hours, the role usually requires 15 hours per week.

Skills / Qualifications / Experience Required

You will be honest, efficient, reliable and trustworthy with previous experience in a similar role and be able to deliver a high standard of cleaning. You will also have excellent communication skills with a firm understanding of English and a positive and approachable attitude. At least two previous references will be required and will be checked. You must be eligible to work in the UK and have all your supporting documents.

About Southwark Playhouse Theatre Company

Southwark Playhouse is a busy theatre with two theatre spaces, a café/bar, rehearsal room, dressing rooms and offices. The venue is open 6 days a week, with the occasional Sunday opening, all year round. We are looking for a part time cleaner to join the team to keep the building clean for all visitors and users of the venue.
