About this role

Southwark Cathedral Holiday Camp has vacancies for enthusiastic and experienced children’s Playworkers.

The camp will run from August 1st - 3rd and August 7th - 10th (inclusive).

Hours will be from 9am to 5pm.

If you are fun, creative and have experience of working with 4 to 11 year olds, we would love to hear from you.

You must be an active team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to practice sound judgement and common sense.

Successful applicants will join us in providing high-quality, safe and stimulating care for the children attending Southwark Cathedral Holiday Camp.

Essential Criteria

Experience of working with 4 to 11 year olds
Understanding the varied needs of children and their families
Understanding the issues involved in the delivery of quality play care
Understanding the issues of equal opportunities
Provide and facilitate safe and creative play
Good communication skills
Able to work as part of a team
Sound judgement and common sense
Sufficient understanding and use of English to ensure the well-being of the children*
Willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check

Desirable Criteria

Experience of working within a play-based setting
A recognised childcare qualification
Experience of administration
Competent in using IT to support play and club administration
Ability to work on own initiative
Relevant qualification or willingness to work towards this
Appropriate child protection training
Current Paediatric First Aid Certificate
Food Hygiene Certificate

All posts are covered by the Childcare Act 2006 and are subject to receipt of a satisfactory enhanced DBS disclosure for a regulated activity and reference checks.
