Former councillor representing Chaucer ward in the London Borough of Southwark

Mackie was the chair of the Rockingham T&RA for two years before he became a Lib Dem councillor in 2006. He lost his seat at the 2010 election.

He has served as deputy mayor and as chair of Borough & Bankside Community Council.
