Does anyone have any idea what was causing the huge amount of police to be guarding a building on Hatfields on Wednesday night. Looked like a VIP visit on a grand scale.

TalkSport's studios are in Hatfields. Can't think of many other places in Hatfields that might host a VIP visit - apart from maybe the London Nautical School sports hall.

lagse1 - which end of Hatfields was the police presence?

It was at the Stamford St end, definitely one of the buildings on the Talksport side. Earlier in the day there were armed-style police - the ones who wear baseball caps - making checks all around the area...very strange

Apologies for any inconvenience last night - 15Hatfields hosted a very important person last night - namely the Prince of Wales. Security surrounding His Royal Highness is tight and rigorous.

At the event the Prince of Wales urged lawyers to act on climate change.

15Hatfields is home to one of the UK's most sustainable conferences and events venues. The environmentally friendly venue opened in May 2008 and offers state-of-the-art facilities, built to the highest environmental specifications.

The venue is part of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) - a long time resident of Hatfields

The Prince of Wales urged the legal profession to sign up to a scheme to help combat global warming.

Prince Charles called on lawyers across the country to get involved with the Legal Sector Alliance (LSA) - a group of law firms working to reduce their carbon footprint and adopt environmentally sustainable practices.

While people were being moved on by armed police, I hope they noticed the work being done on Hatfields by Groundworks, we are getting some lovely planters on the Hatfields side.
