Vegetarian Haggis?
JaneS Saturday 24 January 2009 6.58pm
Has anyone seen any veggie haggis anywhere in SE1 or nearby? It's been hard enough to track down the meat-y variety but I can't find a single veggie one anywhere!
Can someone help? Thanks in advance!

What you need is Macsween vegetarian haggis can be bought from Waitrose, whether the one over Tower bridge has it is another question, your best bet I would have thought would be Marylebone High st,or The Brunswick centre branchs.Other possibilites are John Lewis or Selfridges food hall

They have some in ADSA, on the Old Kent Road, my husband got terribly excited...I think it was near the bacon and sausage section. Is vegetarian haggis less disgusting than meat haggis?

Wee, sleekit, cowrin, tim'rous beastie,
O, what a panic's in thy breastie!
Thou need na start awa sae hasty
Instead of haggis hav' a pasty.
Tonight is Burn's night I believe.

Have I lost the plot? There is no such thing as a vegetarian haggis. A haggis is what it is, and it is made from meat.

...if you press it, they will come.

As groundsman Willy said in the Simpsons:
Haggis is "... chopped heart and lungs... boiled in a real sheep's stomach... tastes as good as it sounds!"

And that might be why people buy vegetarian haggis...
