It never really appeared to be in the right place, maybe if it'd been situated on TBR, Jamaica Rd, or nearer The Blue, that would have made a difference.

I believe it closes at the end of March.

The landlord wanted another 12 year lease. The restaurateur was not able to commit.

The food there just keeps getting better and better.

I agree with you re: location (apart from I loved the fact i could walk to it in 3 minutes flat)

I'm due to dine there on 21st March and I'm told it closes the following week on 28th. Maybe she'll re-locate?

I heard the owner just got tired of it all and wants a break from running a restaurant! Shame, one of the best in the area....

Shaggy - I think the 12 year lease was the key factor, particularly as clientèle has been reducing - just too much of a risk to sign up for another 12 years.

I do agree with the social idea - to give her a really good send off would be nice..

Haven't been for years but is always on my list to do ... so yes!

excellent idea - one of my favourite places.

It's a shame this is closing, I really liked it there.
