When I worked on a summer playscheme the centre where I worked had allowed Zenith, the makers of the programme access to our roof to film the railway arches opposite. In return they let us take a group of kids along to the Paradise Club. This was actually Camden Palais. The kids all got to meet 'Dirty Den' Leslie Grantham and several other cast members. One little girl aged 5 dined out on the story that Dirty Den had taken a shine to her and said "allo darlin, whats your name then?".
He was an absolute gent and spent half an hour talking to the kids, signing autographs, etc.
