hmmm...this has got me thinking, last year while getting my husband out of a black taxi at Southwark Registry office the wheels got stuck in the cobbles, I could neither move backwards or forwards. I was stuck in rather an unelegant pose for a lady of my ahem..mature years and build.
Dons head was about ten inches from the ground and I was desperately holding onto the handles so he would not crash down. It was only when someone saw the predicament that I was in and jumped into the taxi and lifted the front of the wheelchair out.
Question: Southwark Council
were aware that there was a problem with the cobbles and safety as there had been several accidents already there, as I was told by one member of the staff that someone had broken their neck on the cobbles! But the council were unable to take action because English Heritage stopped them altering the frontage..
So could I take any action against the council for damage to my back as since this incident I have had back problems that did not exist prior to this event? especially as ten months have passed.

p.s. and I hate the compensation culture too...
and the porcine element takes to the sky...
