That was a big stabling and livery area for the barge horses that worked on the nearby canals and all the attendant industries (farriers, saddlers and the like)

Looks a bit over the top, rather distracting. We've just come back from Llangollen where they still have a horse pull a barge down the canal. Now the barges carry tourists but they used to carry slate I believe. Across the nearby river, steam trains run up and down an old GWR line. Sights to behold and thank goodness not a touch of Disney!

I kinda like it - at least it's brick which will increase in "character" with age - rather than more plate glass and steel.
