Out of curiousity, what happened to the fantastic community darkroom at the Beormund?
I used to use it all the time.

Apparently the local group who were running it provided all the equipment themselves, so it closed when they left...

So there's no reason it couldn't be started up again if people are able/willing to provide equipment or apply for some funding, maybe from SC's community fund: http://www.southwark.gov.uk/YourCouncil/communitycouncils/Communityfund.html

I may have some darkroom equipment I might want to make available - what exactly is required?

They don't have anything at all there at the moment, so I suppose it depends what people want... anyone interested in setting up a darkroom again?

Sounds like something Southwark Arts Forum should know about.
I know it's all very ArtyCrafty nowadays, but are there any community darkrooms left in Southwark at all? There used to be a few, and Beormund was the best equipped.
And I don't suppopse Southwark even has a community education programme to put a chemical photography course on, unlike Lewisham.

Well, they do have this: http://www.southwark.gov.uk/YourServices/educationandlearning/AdultLearning/ but it looks like most of the courses have already started, and I can't see a photography one on there. It might be worth emailing them to ask if they'll start one at adultlearning@southwark.gov.uk - they do have several photography courses in Lewisham, in fact they've got LOADS more courses generally: http://www.lewisham.gov.uk/EducationAndLearning/AdultAndCommunityEducation/.

They always were more committed to this kind of thing than most.
