"The council would not comment on how long the agreement is set to last or when work will start."

That particular sentence, if true, is insulting. When do we get to vote in a new council?

That is arrogance beyond belief....when will Southwar Councillors realise they are employees of the the local community who work for and on their behalf not on some self serving premise that they are in charge of anything at all. This whole regeneration episode is quite disgraceful and perhaps should be investigated more thoroughly for any mal administration.

Does anybody have any further details of what was said at the Council meeting yesterday? That BD article is very vague.

When the say the council "agreed" to enter into a new deal with Lend Lease I presume they just mean that negotiations will continue...

More bull... from SC. that actually says nothing at all except that despite having been in 1-to-1 negotiation they still are. There is no news or information whatsoever in SC's news release...nothing at all. Anyone who thinks that it means anyhthing at all is sadly deluded...that doesn't mean something wont happen....or that it will. It's just there is no news here whtsoever.
