I am desperately searching for a mexican food specialist that I was told was in Elephant and Castle ... called something like 'Aztec' (although I wouldn't swear to it) Please ... if anyone knows of it, please let me know, as I am dying to buy some of thier sauce - don't ask!!!

I appreciate any help on this one,

Not sure of the name of the place, but there's a sign to a Mexican food shop pointing down a narrow alley squashed between the Coronet "cinema" and the railway viaduct on New Kent Road. If you succeed, pls let me know what you think....

Yes it is, and it's fun to visit for a bizarre, spaghetti western kind of vibe. Tiny, and not many items to buy, but quite atmospheric. A friend of mine who lived in Mexico tells me it sells authentic stuff.

thanks so much ... um could any body give me directions from any public transport point??? I live in Ealing, and I think i'd get horribly lost if I tried ... :)

Ealing?? Just how good IS this bottle of sauce? And what's it called? I do love a bit of sauce. It's right next door to the Coronet which is next to the Charlie Chaplin at the top of the New Kent Road. In fact going north it's where you'd get off the bus. I assume you'll come by tube so just look for the Charlie Chaplin.

Sarah - just get a bus or tube to the Elephant.
The Coronet cinema / venue is quite hard to miss. Then Aztec is down a small opening just before the railway bridge on the same side as The Coronet - it's signposted so you shouldn't have any problems.

Yeah, and added to that, you should look for the New Kent Rd exit in the underpasses. That leads you directly to the Coronet, and hence to our own little corner of la vida loca.

so what's this sauce called? I'm all juiced up thinking about it.

Nuts as it sounds ... I can't even remember what the sauce is called ... the beer at the restaurant is good too!
But as soon as I've bought some, I'll post it ... I think its called something imaginative like 'Hot Jalapeno sauce' or some such ... I'm hoping that they won't mind helping me out on that count ...

Thanks for all your help - I'll have to definately post back to let you all know if it was worth it!
