Astroturfing doesn't seem to be being eradicated from this website. James is very good at detecting it. Trading standards don't seem very keen on prosecuting.

Perhaps we should keep a list of the threads where there is a reasonable and undisputed suspicion so that we can treat them with due respect.

For example:
Waterloo Brasserie - http://www.london-se1.co.uk/forum/read/1/115647/page=7
Bangalore Express - http://www.london-se1.co.uk/forum/read/1/81493
The Sushi Chef - http://www.london-se1.co.uk/forum/read/1/114150/page=1

Which have I missed? Did I miss clarifications for these?

My favourites are the ones who try to deny it even after James has rumbled them.

...as annoying as they are, I feel that I should admit to feeling rather amused when they get busted though!! Am I the only one?

I have felt amused as well when some got busted. I remember that local PR agency who tried to generate some interest in a Vinopolis event and there was some speculation about what the person who posted looked like. My image of a clumsy junior was trumped by somebody else's of an overweight gentleman in his 40's, if I remember well.

ok so this is my question to you Astroturfing spotters: what do you think of the first time post which was a positive review of Del Aziz that followed the less glowing reviews....

I thought that was a bit iffy...
