The notice about the Mayor insisting that the developer pay for the improvements in the Tube at the E&C spells delay and possibly curtains for the project. Bloody TFL are NOT going to pay up.

Over 11 years on and still no start in sight.

With the best will in the world TfL are skint....have we all noticed the fare rise this week? And if they do find some money it will only come out of the Council Tax demand for everyone anyway. The developers need to be contributing here but with all the demands for affordable housing too there just isnt enough money in the pot for everyone. This isn''t good news for the project but it is understandable...if we all want these things we are going to have to pay for them...unfortunatley.....either directly or indirectly.

The demise of the Western part of the Congestion Zone was the undoing of the Northern line tube station improvement. Shame really.

I think that's stretching the point just a bit too much there.

All true but aren't we going a bit of track on this.

I'm presuming that TfL will take the same approach as at Camden and Covent Garden - wait until the load on the station is dangerous, make the station one way (after all, there's no reason why people can't walk to or from Lambeth North or Borough, and there's plenty of space on the buses, isn't there?), and then do nothing for years on end.

'Predict and provide' is a strategy for road planning, not public transport, obviously.
