Absolutely! It's also important that older treasures don't end up looking like a piece of corporate art because of what's been built around it. These memorials need traditional planting around them at least.

It's good that something has been rejected for being too dominant. Hope something nice happens though.

It was intended for there to be flats above the restaurant, Beetroot.

I don't think there's been any mention of flats in either of the two planning applications made for the site in the last year.

I could be wrong, James, but I'm sure it said in the original app (I saw it in the Southwark News on whatever date I created this thread) that there would be flats on the upper level. I will see if I still have the paper in case I've got the wrong end of the stick.

They probably wanted the extra floor for more seating but it's just not necessary. Have they seen the lunchtime hunters?
