Labour look on course to take control of the council - general election seems to have carried over to the local results, with the smaller parties have been squeezed....and looks as though Jenny Jones (Green Party) has lost her seat.

Well Southwark overall is proving to be very interesting with an amazing result in College ward (Dulwich) with Labour taking two seats from the Tories.

No change in Bishop's ward (Lambeth) or Cathedrals ward (Southwark) - both solid Lib Dem.

Full recount in Chaucer ward - it's a close result.

Chaucer result now delayed till tomorrow.

But whatever happens in Chaucer, Southwark is again a Labour controlled borough after 8 years of Lib Dem dominance.

Chaucer now has a Labour councillor (Claire Hickson) and two Lib Dems (Tim McNally and Poddy Clark).

I managed to grab a quick word with Labour leader Peter John:

good riddance libdumbs ...
now, if only tories would vote in the riverside wards for their party instead of believing simonsays, they might be a larger block!
the libdumb lies about Labour and Lambeth were disbelieved this time!
So, you can only fool some of the people, some of the time...
Well done Peter and the team!
Having the Council Leader still resident in Riverside can only bode well.
