I have been looking too, and contacted a few from recommendations here, unfortuantely they either are too busy, say they will call back and don't and some don't even turn up for appointments. Not impressed so far. I even tried the Trading Standands site without much success.

If you do find someone, would love to know!

I'm sure there was an article recently about a fella who had binned his career to be a plumber. He was apparently fed up at the no-shows, too-busy's, far-too-expensive people he'd used previously.

Having limited experience in this game, don't think my job change is imminent !

no guarantees, as you know from the above how dodgy this lot can be! however, friends of mine just had their old terrace renovated, and have been happywith the work done by this guy - Dave 07958 032 123 - he has fitted new bathroom and kitchen, plus central heating and has also done some nice carpentry for them.

I think I did see that article G00se. I am beginning to see why he would resort to such drastic measures. Finding a good tradesman is hard hard work.
