Yep - they were on last night!

Just couldn't help but think last night it looks somewhat odd just having these three purple lit circles up there not making any reference to anything else on the building that is rather starkley (?) black and white. Or maybe there is more purple light to come?
White light would be more in keeping with the rest of the building.
Mind you it might even be possible to change the colour of the light.....

Oh I am hoping they are using LED lights and will easily be able to change the colour.....

been looking at it again tonight and can't help but think they've gone through all that work to integrated the turbines into the building fabric, yet the lighting at night makes it look like they've just plonked something on top as it doens't tie in with anything else.
Also been thinking the turbines are all about being green etc, yet having those lights on doesn't strike me as a very green thing to do - but maybe I'm wrong on this?

Saying that, it's not fully finished yet, so I shall wait and see what the final end product looks like - who know's what else they have up on their sleeve.

As JonR says...let's see how annoying it gets. Maybe they're going to change the colour scheme as they do with The Wheel...but if the turbines are going to be whizzing around it will create a horrible strobe light effect which will REALLy be tiresome, and not just to me. I initially thought the lights on top were for low flying aircraft, helicopters and so on...

Does anyone else think the red lights make the building look like the devil? I feel like the building is summoning Gozer the Gozerian. Not sure I want that in my neighborhood.
