Anyone else disturbed by the helicopter buzzing around the Tower Bridge / Jamaica Road area this morning between 6.15-7.00am?

It was so low over my house that i even managed to get the tail fin number and have emailed a complaint to the charter company.

They were lucky i didn't have my bazooka with me!

Hi Scott - out of interest, what was the charter company?

I wasn't woken up by it this morning, but I was woken up by a helicopter a few weeks ago - it seemed to be hovering above this area for absolutely ages. In the end, I gave up trying to sleep and just got up, grumpily.

It also woke us, where can we complain? This was ridiculous, during the weekends we have the tourist helicopters and now also early in the morning....

Woke me up too. I would like to complain if you can tell us the company?

oh dear I must have been in a rather deep sleep as I didn't wake up till my alarm went off at 7.30 and I live round there! But I've heard them before but just assumed they were police search helicopters.
Anyone know who they are and what were they actually doing so early on a weekend?

I haven't heard anything back from the email I sent yesterday... surprise, surprise! If anyone else wants to complain then the tail fin number of the helicopter was G-BPRL (i took a picture of it, so I'm 100% certain about this). If you google this reference and the word helicopter then it appears to be registered to a company called Excel Charters. This is who I emailed.

The blue helicopter had a camera attached to it and so it was obviously filming the river and Tower Bridge in the early morning sun.

I can tell you what they were filming. My partner was out running over Tower Bridge yesterday morning at 7 and saw a black and yellow Morris Oxford occupied by four people being escorted by one police car and four motorbikes. They came over Tower Bridge from the north, over to the south and back to the north again, finally parking in Trinity Square off Byward Street where the police then blocked access to the road. At least when Sherlock Holmes was being filmed around Tower Bridge they were polite enough to let residents know.
