Supermarket Shocker

Hi truthmonkey
Thanks for your info re: Southwark Council trading standards, very useful.
I reckon that's what we all should do, informing them and 'Which' magazine again and again: constant dripping wears away the stone. If public awareness rises these supermarkets have to take better care, it worked for animal welfare it will work for other things.
Have a nice weekend everybody.

I actually had a good experience lately in the Tesco on Old Kent Road.
I bought a 50% special discount item but it came up full price (£30) at the till.
Someone was sent to the shelf to check and came back with the discount label where very discreetly also a date was printed.
Turned out special offer expired 10 days ago. I was told label should not have been there anymore but was immediately passed on discount without even having to say a word.
Was well impressed!

Got over charged £5.50 again tonight in Tesco Metro Shoreditch----before you cry out---I had loyalty vouchers I was dertmined to use before binning Tesco for good. The member of staff did handle it impeccabley and offered the price promise, before telling me the problems with the tills/pricing were 'ceseless'.

Well here is a suggestion. If you are overcharged for any item, post it up here. I'm sure a troupe of us would then go down to the supermarket and buy the item and get the price promise double the difference and simultaneously encourage them to sort it all out!

Hi Dronid
Brillaint Master Plan, but believe it or not, every item has been differant so far! However I guess if you shop there, esp. if you purchase any offers there is a likley-hood,you would be due the price-promise.

If the item has been overcharged for it means that they need to change the pricing on the system and by the sound that's a slow thing. . Either they'll fix it quickly or they would loose a lot of money and time. If every item is different that's fine. If you just post the item(s) overcharged for once you get home from the shop and, if I, or others happen to want that item I'll get it and see if we're overcharged.
Just say what and how much it should be (and how much it was!) Holding them to their price promise likely the best way forward.

Wasn't going to goback in that store, but if I do will post here. The item I was last over charged was Hardy's Crest Red wine, should have been reduce to £4.69. I also checked the item and I had the right one with the store Manager before going to the till.
I was charged 10.99 for it. The manager confirmed I had the right item but the tills were programmed wrong. Other item was beetroot/carrot saladin tubs two for £2.oo, think I was charged either £2.40 or £2.60 not got receipt to hand. Tuna Tesco Own brand in brine should have been 82 pence I was charged £1.82
Those were the last few.......

Well I'll check it tomorrow when I'm passing. I could get all the own brand tuna which with the price promise would be free and 20p extra per time! I'm sure they'd be keen to get things fixed quickly!
