It's an amazing exhibition full of Spare's brilliant and magical artworks. Spare also made a point of holding his exhibitions in local pubs. The White Bear and Mansion House on Kennington Park Rd as well as Temple Bar on Walworth Rd. Slowly, slowly Spare is finally getting the recognition he deserves not only as an exceptional artist but also a occultist and magician. His life was also fascinating, choosing to remain local to Southwark and Lambeth despite occasional forays into a much posher London art scene.

The exhibition in the liberary is wonderful. Saw the notices outside as I walked past and went in knowing nothing at all about the artist. I thought the self-portraits and portraits of local people were especially fascinating, as was the information provided on his work. Well worth a visit.
