We have only had two deliveries in the past month. Mandela Way not answering the phone to the Royal Mail when I followed up with my complaint.

My neighbour and I were comparing notes yesterday - he's had mail (credit card & bank statements/cards etc) go missing, with identity fraud resulting seemingly. He reckons that someone has been going through his rubbish also, looking for identifying information.

Personally, I have noticed some credit card statements going missing in the post, though I've not suffered from any actual ID fraud problems. (I shred any waste paper with ID stuff on it).

I've not read through all the posts. Is this missing post & ID fraud issue a localised problem (we're in Shad Thames)?

Thanks.

There was a spate of bin rummaging and fraud about ten years stxmld. In our block this was connected to a criminal element living there at the time.

Around five years ago I was constantly getting my post of statements- bank and cc and service bills go missing through the post. Someone attempted to set up a credit card in my name but was discovered before it went any further- they steal the post you see to do with the fraud they set up - so you are lucky if you get to know about it. Equally having ID ( stolen) they then started to register cars at my address through the DVLA and the cars were used in crime. So it runs further than things going missing-or a few light fingers- it is organised crime through the Royal Mail. Of course this was all reported at the time to RM head office-police reports etc- but they could not care less. Having said that, I have not heard about this extent of crime for a while. I have had parcels go missing- obviously stolen internally - but not to the same criminal extent.
Re the parcels- the Community Police advised me last time there was a spate of theft to always report it to the police. It is theft ( they put a card through the door saying you have a parcel - then the parcel disappears!!!)

The same thing happened to me earlier in the year and I can confirm that the same level of interest was shown.

The coppers even asked me how they were supposed to find out who was doing it and seemed taken aback by my suggestion that I thought that was the sort of thing they specialised in. They weren't interested in investigating unless I could tell them who was doing it.

definitely invest a few quid in a shredder - nothing leaves my doors in the rubbish with my name , address or any details whatsoever without being shredded .
