Forgive my ignorance, but what will happen to the site 15 years after planning permission was granted?

Thanks.

White Cube has a 15 year lease - so it is probable that there will be fresh proposals to redevelop the site towards the end of that period.

I don't think so, Auntie Beeb.

Spoke to a builder today on site:

Me: So is this really opening in 10 days?

Him: No way mate, this is mental..

Me: How long you been here?

Him: It's my first day and I already want to go home

Take from that what you will..

My money is on it still having an opening party. Too much riding on it not having one. Yet somehow my invite seems to be stuck in the post, despite the fact i have not had a solid nights sleep for the past month due to it..

Grr!

It goes to show that it'll be alright on the night!

I've just walked by the front, and it looks quite splendid - complete with a new tree [always good to see]- after several 'all nighters'. Lots of people inside [Press, I'm told]

Welcome to Bermondsey, White Cube :) [and farewell to early morning wakeups :p]

Is the vernissage only by invitation or it is open to the public from tonight?

I cannot find any info on the white cube website, or I did not look carefully

Thank you!

Now there's a new word for me! As far as I know, the preview is open to anyone - but don't quote me :p There are a lot of gentlemen in dark suits outside and a barrier across the entrance.

Any sniper on the roof? I am not going to get near.. :)

I guess we will have years ahead to enjoy that place..

Thank you anyway.

Vernissage would I think be better known as varnishing day here.

You mean here (there) in your house? :)

It is the actual name internationally used for an artistic opening..

Used often as a second meaning for: free food and drinks.. who cares about the pictures.. :)))
