Bert Hardy's Photos

Just looked at Bert Hardy's photos of the Elephant & Castle photos..the one that evoked the strongest memory was the one that
showed the coal merchants, the two small lads were probably on a coal pinching exercise! all the small bits that had fallen off the cart...some were found before they were dropped on the floor!
Smeaton Court is now on the right, Albert Barnes House on the left.. There is a pub on the corner of the yard now...Hand in Hand?
The hair washing with the butler sink in the background, tin bowl on the table, complete with teapot and bottle of milk, the wallpaper coming off..very familiar..
The pub I was probably sat outside on the doorstep with an arrowroot biscuit!
wonderful photos , just wish I had seen them before...

Fantastic. I'd love to know where some of these were taken. Pub names etc. The view from the roof top too. Are there more pictures in the exhibtion?
