Velo-Tooley Street

Anyone know when Velo on Tooley street is due to open? Previously i heard its early 2011...so should be anytime now right?!

It's looking doubtful that it's going to open at all...

too bad, if that's true - was looking forward to a Vietnamese restaurant in the 'hood that was also open for dinner.

Hi, sorry for the delay, but we are working hard at it to open by the end of November. Do watch out for us. Expect something really cool!

great news! there is a dire shortage of good quality Asian restaurants around...the more Thai, Vietnamese and Malaysian the better. More please!

Velo, please cater for us veggies with tofu/beancurd!
Suchard (Thai) does and the Wasabi (Japanese) kiosks do so it must be worthwhile [big hopeful grin]

Hi boroughpaul, we are hoping indeed to be an exciting addition to the current offering in and around Tooley street, and a more exotic alternative to the usual take-away chains.

Hi beetroot, yes we'll have a few vegetarian dishes, such as banh mi tofu (Vietnamese baguette), green papaya salad with tofu and vegetarian summer rolls. We have a select menu with a few but light, healthy and tasty dishes. We hope you will like them.

We are launching a new concept of fast casual dining, offering great Vietnamese food at affordable prices combined with touch screen technology allowing customers to order and pay by themselves (with a VeloCard - a prepaid contactless payment card a la Oyster). It has been a few years in the making so we can't wait to make it happen very soon.

Just ate at Velo. Pleased to see it finally open, had the chicken Pho and it was delish. Worth a look, I'll be going back.
